In early February, the Israeli Ministry of Health published the quality indices of the internal medicine departments of Israel’s hospitals. The survey placed Nazareth Hospital at the top!  

Prof. Fahad Hakim, Medical Director of the Hospital congratulated the Internal Medicine Department and stated: “At Nazareth Hospital we put the development and improvement of medical services at the top of our priority. We constantly focus on expanding our medical and nursing staff and recruiting professionals from the among the best in the country.”  

The indices were published for the first time this year and are mostly based on 2023 data. They also form the basis of an incentive program, in which 90 million Shekels ($25 million) were offered to hospitals and awarded according to compliance with the various components of the indices. 

Nazareth Hospital’s rankings include: 

• In the Seven-Day Re-hospitalization Index, which is accepted worldwide for measuring the quality of medical care, Nazareth Hospital came in first place at about 5%. 

• In the Patient Service Survey Index, Nazareth Hospital ranked second for the whole country. 

• In the Index of Staffing of Specialist Doctors and Interns Per Bed, the Hospital was ranked #1.
